Ocean Cruise
Mediterranean
Millennia of civilization along azure coastlines. Every port tells a story that changed the world.
The Original Grand Tour
The Mediterranean invented travel. Two thousand years before anyone coined the phrase “corporate retreat,” the Romans were sailing these waters for pleasure. Today, the Med remains the gold standard for cruise travel, and for good reason. No other region on earth packs this much history, cuisine, and sheer beauty into a coastline you can sail in a week.
I’ve booked more Med cruises than any other destination, and the reason’s simple: it works for everyone. Your architecture enthusiasts explore Roman ruins in Ephesus while your food lovers take a cooking class in Barcelona. Everyone reconvenes at dinner with stories to share. That optionality is what makes a luxury ocean cruise in the Med so well-suited to groups with diverse interests.
What You’ll See
The western Med covers Spain, France, and Italy — think Barcelona, Marseille, the Amalfi Coast, and the French Riviera. The eastern Med takes in Greece, Turkey, and Croatia — Santorini, Dubrovnik, Istanbul. Some itineraries combine both in a 12-14 night sailing that’s genuinely comprehensive.
But our itineraries go beyond the obvious. The medieval walled city of Kotor in Montenegro. The Roman mosaics of Piazza Armerina in Sicily. The jasmine-scented medina of Tunis. These are the stops that make a Mediterranean trip feel genuinely curated rather than cookie-cutter.
Why Groups Work Here
The beauty of a Mediterranean cruise for groups is that you unpack once and visit six countries. Shore excursion options let everyone customize their day. The ships handle all the logistics — no buses, no airport transfers, no hotel check-ins. For team offsites, this means more time experiencing and less time coordinating.
The group economics are compelling too. Cruise lines offer dedicated group coordinators, onboard event space, and private dining options. When you’re booking 10+ cabins, the per-person cost drops substantially and you often unlock complimentary cabins for organizers.
Our Preferred Partners
For group travel in the Med, I steer clients toward small ships. Regent Seven Seas is offering free business class air on 2026/2027 Europe voyages — that’s a massive value add on an already all-inclusive product. Silversea has savings of up to $7,000 plus $1,000 shipboard credit on select voyages. Windstar operates yacht-style vessels with up to $2,000 OBC plus a pre-cruise hotel stay, and their Beyond Inclusive Mediterranean package adds up to $1,000 OBC per guest.
For a more intimate experience, Explora Journeys — the newest ultra-luxury line — is offering up to 30% off their Med sailings. And Azamara focuses on longer port stays, meaning you’re not rushing back to the ship at 5 PM.
When to Go
May and October hit the sweet spot — warm weather, fewer crowds, lower rates. June and September are nearly as good. July and August are peak season with higher temperatures and busier ports, but that’s when most teams want to travel. I can make any month work, but if you’ve got flexibility, shoulder season is where the magic is.
