Objection Handlers

1

"That's too expensive for our team."

Celebrity Xcel starts at $1,647 per person for 7 nights — that's $235 per night including accommodations, meals, entertainment, and a total solar eclipse. Compare that to a mid-range hotel in Barcelona at $250/night that includes nothing. We can also structure payment plans with reduced deposits for groups.

2

"We can't take that much time off work."

The Celebrity Xcel sailing is only 7 nights — essentially one work week plus a weekend on each end. Many companies position this as a team retreat that replaces the annual offsite. You're not adding vacation days; you're replacing existing budget with something people will actually remember.

3

"Can't we just watch it on YouTube?"

You can watch a YouTube video of someone eating at a Michelin-star restaurant too. It's not the same. During totality, the temperature drops, stars appear in the middle of the day, the horizon glows 360 degrees, and people involuntarily scream. No video captures that. This is a full-body sensory event.

4

"Someone on our team gets seasick."

Modern cruise ships have stabilizers that make motion nearly imperceptible in the Mediterranean and Atlantic. The Regent Grandeur is a smaller luxury vessel designed for comfort, and the Cunard Queen Victoria will be docked in Tangier during the eclipse. We also have Nile River options where you're on calm inland waters.

5

"Why don't we just fly somewhere in the path?"

Three reasons. First, every hotel in the path of totality is already fully booked or has tripled prices. Second, if clouds roll in on eclipse day, you're stuck — a ship can reposition. Third, you still need accommodations, meals, and transportation. The all-in cost of land-based viewing often exceeds the cruise.

6

"Let me think about it and get back to you."

Absolutely. But I should mention: 12 ships have already sold out their eclipse sailings, and the remaining options are filling fast. I can hold cabins for 7 days with a fully refundable deposit so you don't lose your spot while you decide. No risk.

7

"Why wouldn't we just book directly with the cruise line?"

You'd pay exactly the same price — cruise lines maintain rate parity. But booking direct means no group discounts, no free cabins at 15+ bookings, no dedicated coordinator, and no one advocating for your group if something goes wrong. Our commission comes from the cruise line, not from you.

8

"We don't really do cruises."

Most of our eclipse clients aren't 'cruise people' either. This isn't about the ship — it's about the eclipse. The ship is just the best viewing platform. Think of it as a mobile luxury hotel that can chase clear skies. Virgin Voyages in particular is designed for people who don't like traditional cruises: no formal nights, no buffets, adults-only.

Regent Eclipse Warning

Regent Seven Seas markets several voyages as "eclipse sailings," but many of their ships will only reach 80-93% coverage. That is NOT totality. Partial eclipses look nothing like a total eclipse — there is no corona, no diamond ring, no darkness. Always verify the ship will be in the path of totality before recommending. Our reserved Regent Grandeur sailing (2027) is confirmed in the totality path.

The Close

"Here's what I'd suggest: let me hold 8 cabins for your team with a fully refundable deposit. You have 7 days to decide with zero risk. If the answer is no, I release them and you owe nothing. But if three of those cabins sell to someone else while you're thinking it over, they're gone — and 12 ships have already sold out completely. Want me to lock them in?"

Always offer the refundable hold. Remove the risk. Create the deadline.
